Siam benzoin
The cleaner, sweeter and more expensive of the two benzoins, tapped from Styrax tonkinensis in the uplands of Laos. A benzoate balsam: benzoic acid and its esters dominate, cinnamic acid is essentially absent. The benzoin that fine perfumery means when it says benzoin.
